iBurst Troubleshooter By Computer Wiz – No connect

How to diagnose a problem on your iBurst if you are unable to connect.
- Unplug the pigtail from the desktop modem if you are close to an iBurst base station.
- Remove the pigtail to confirm it is not problematic.
- Reset modem by pushing on/off button on side of modem and then switch it back on.
- What is the colour of the middle LED or light on the modem ?
- Give the modem about 45 seconds to settle down ?
- You must try and obtain a Green light being displayed on your iBurst modem.
- Move your modem to a window or
- Place it in such a way that it is closest to or facing your iBurst base station.
- If you have any Metal Venetian blinds then please lift the blind for this exercise.
- Any metal objects or metal screens blocking your antenna reception must be removed for this exercise or
- Move your iBurst modem where it has a clear line of site to the iBurst base station.
- You could even lift it to a higher position in your room or office.
- Wait for 45 seconds after resetting your modem in allowing modem to retrieve IP from iBurst base station.
- Now reboot your computer.
- Only have the USB cable connected to the modem and your desktop pc / computer / laptop / notebook
- If you have the white cable connected to the modem, then please unplug this ethernet cable on the iBurst modem side.
- If you have the ethernet and the USB cable connected, the modem will not work.
- Make sure the USB cable from the iBurst modem is connected to your computer.
- Now that your modem was reset and your computer rebooted in this order double click the blue IB icon on the bottom of your computers taskbar.
- Confirm UTID …. a long number is displayed. If not the computer does not see the modem.
- Confirm the Signal strength
- Signal strength of 50 % to 70 % is required to connect.
- Call up the dashboard or your dial-up connection icon and connect to the internet.
- Make sure that your LAN card which is built into your computer – local area connection network card is enabled.
- If the LAN card is not enabled the connection will not take place. Dont be concerned about the” network cable unplugged ” you may receive from the computer.
- Make sure your LAN TCP/IP properties is set to ” obtain IP address automatically “ If not then select the correct tab.
- Remember to apply and save any change you introduce.
- Close the windows and then
- Use the DASHBOARD if this is installed and click CONNECT or use the shortcut on your desktop to connect by double clicking the iBurst dial-up shortcut, then
- Click the tab to remember this password and select anyone who uses this computer.
- CLICK CONNECT
- Double click the blue IB icon on the bottom right hand side of your taskbar and confirm the CONNECT STATUS
- If you are connected then
- Open your browser and surf the internet.
