How to create a Dial-up PPPOE connection
by computerwiz on May.18, 2009, under Computer Wiz - Blog
If you experience issues with your iBurst Dashboard you could uninstall this software.
Please note that once you uninstall the iBurst Dashboard you will not be able to view your remaining data. You could however goto the iBurst website and request that you receive a daily email informing you of your bandwidth usage.
Before you try the following please confirm that you have your iBurst username and password available as you will be removing this information from the Dashboard.
Click on the config button on the dashboard to confirm your username and capture this to a word document or text file.
If you need to confirm your password before removing the dashborad then I suggest you phone the iBurst help desk or the Atlantic helpdesk depending on who your ISP may be and requesting this information from them.
Ask them to email the details to your email address and then print the required information.
iBurst helpdesk telephone contact is 0116766004
Atlantic help desk contact is 0126852880
- Now Uninstall your dashboard.
- Restart pc and click on START then ALL PROGRAMS then ACCESSORIES then COMMUNICATIONS then run the NEW CONNECTION WIZARD.
- Select Internet connection then manual connection setup then PPPOE and follow the prompts.
- Before you click finish select the create shortcut to Desktop and then click FINISH.
- Now double click your new Dail-up connection on the desktop and click on connect.
- Test your connection to confirm you dont have any problems.

iBurst disconnect problem
by computerwiz on May.18, 2009, under Computer Wiz - Blog
If you are experiencing disconnects on your iBurst connection then please look at the following points to overcome this problem.
- Confirm your signal strength by using the USB interface only.
- Make sure you do not have the ethernet connected to the iBurst desktop modem.
- Antenna in the upright position closest to your nearest iBurst base station.
- Reset your modem by powering modem off then on.
- Double click the blue iBurst Terminal icon bottom right hand side of task bar.
- You need to have at least 70 percent signal for sustained through-put.
- If signal is low move antenna to higher position or fit external antenna.
- Make sure your email is not disconnecting your connection by going to outlook express and looking at the various switches in the tools then options then connections menu.
- Confirm that the HANG UP AFTER SENDING AND RECEIVING option is not ticked.
- Run Dr TCP and set accordingly.
- If this does not resolve your problem then uninstall the Dashboard and use a normal dial-up window to connect and disconnect from the internet.
- How do I create this dial-up window or shortcut you may ask ?
- Click on this post to help you.
- Once your problem is sorted then you may go back to using your ethernet port on the Desktop modem and remember to unplug the USB interface from your pc.
