iBurst Speeds

by on Feb.12, 2009, under Computer Wiz - Blog

The upload and download  speed of your data on the iBurst network works as follows:

  • Upload  at a maximum of 275 kbps.
  • Download at a maximum of 1024Mbps.
  • The above speeds will vary based on your iBurst signal strength.
  • Our advice is to confirm your speed by performing a speed test on the iBurst website.
  • Make sure you have downloaded and installed Java before running the speed test.
  • If your upload and download speeds are not very good then order an Omni Antenna.
  • Make sure you have run Dr TCP on your computer and set your MTU to 1352.
  • Your speed will be reduced by about 5 to 10 percent on overcast days.
  • If you ping iburst.co.za the responce time should be about 75 to 125 ms.
  • Perform the ping command about 5 times to obtain an average.
  • A ping to google.co.za should be in the range of 300 to 400ms.
  • If you need iBurst support to improve your transfer speeds you could phone the helpdesk alternatively give us a call and we could provide you with the required telephonic support for as little as R250.
  • No improved result means we do not invoice you.
